Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Gardener to support our landscaping and horticultural projects. The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced team to maintain and enhance outdoor spaces, ensuring they are healthy, attractive, and well-kept. Responsibilities
- Assist with planting, pruning, watering, and fertilising plants to promote healthy growth
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems safely and effectively
- Support landscape maintenance activities including mowing, edging, and weeding
- Help with the installation of new garden features and plant displays
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and ensure all equipment is stored correctly after use
- Follow health and safety guidelines during all tasks to prevent accidents or damage
- Contribute to the organisation of gardening supplies and materials for ongoing projects
Skills
- Experience with gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as secateurs, spades, and rakes
- Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and plant care techniques is advantageous
- Growing experience or a keen interest in horticulture will be highly regarded
- Good organisational skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately
- Physical fitness to perform outdoor tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
