Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in horticulture and landscape maintenance, with practical experience in gardening tasks. This role offers an opportunity to work outdoors, contributing to the upkeep and enhancement of the green spaces. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining the health and appearance of gardens, ensuring they are vibrant and well-kept.
Duties
- Planting, watering, fertilising, and pruning plants to promote healthy growth
- Using hand tools such as spades, shears, and rakes for planting and maintenance tasks
- Operating power tools including lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers safely and efficiently
- Conducting landscape maintenance activities such as mowing lawns, weed control, and soil aeration
- Monitoring plant health and identifying pests or diseases for appropriate treatment
- Assisting with seasonal planting schemes and garden redesigns
- Maintaining equipment and ensuring tools are clean, safe, and stored correctly
Requirements
- Proven experience in gardening or horticulture is highly desirable
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance practices and horticultural principles
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely
- Experience with irrigation systems installation and maintenance is a plus
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Physical fitness to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions
- A genuine interest in gardening, landscape aesthetics, and plant care
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in horticulture or landscape management are advantageous
