Join our National Lived Experience Advisory Board - Help shape healthcare in Health in Justice services
Are you passionate about improving healthcare services? Do you have lived experience of prison, probation, immigration detention, or community health and justice services?
We are recruiting members to join our National Lived Experience Advisory Board (LEAB) - a unique opportunity to influence how healthcare is designed, delivered, and improved across Health in Justice services.
The National Lived Experience Advisory Board has been established to ensure that the voices of people with lived experience are at the heart of decision-making.
You will work alongside senior leaders, clinicians and service teams to contribute to:
- National policies and strategies
- Service design and improvement
- Healthcare quality and patient experience
- Innovation and new approaches
The Board will support a “floor-to-board” approach, ensuring that real experiences directly shape national decisions and improve outcomes.
Time commitment:
- Meetings take place approximately every 12 weeks
- Meetings may be online, in-person or hybrid
- Additional optional opportunities to contribute to projects and discussions

We are offering two informal information sessions (links to session will be sent out on request):
- 10:30 - 11:30 - Wednesday 5th August
- 18:00 - 19:00 - Wednesday 12th August
Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
As a member of the National Lived Experience Advisory Board, you will:
- Share your experiences and insights in a safe, supportive environment
- Contribute to discussions that influence healthcare across our services
- Support co-production of services, policies and projects
- Provide feedback on what works well and what needs to change
- Act as an ambassador for patient voice and lived experience
