About Murph's Turf
Murph's Turf is a growing dog walking, daycare and home boarding business based in Wakefield. We pride ourselves on providing a safe, loving and home-from-home environment where every dog is treated like one of our own. As demand continues to grow, I'm looking to expand my trusted boarding team by recruiting a reliable dog lover to provide home boarding on an ad-hoc basis.
About the Role
This is a self-employed subcontractor position, meaning you'll receive boarding bookings through Murph's Turf and care for dogs in your own home. Work will mainly be during school holidays, bank holidays and busy periods, although bookings can come in throughout the year. This is not a guaranteed-hours role, making it perfect for someone looking for flexible, part-time work.
Who This Role Would Suit
This opportunity would be ideal for someone who: - Is retired or looking towards retirement but still wants to keep active. - Works from home and enjoys having dogs around during the day. - Wants to earn additional income on a flexible basis. - Has always wanted to board dogs but doesn't want the pressure of running a business alone. - Has plenty of love, patience and time to dedicate to boarding dogs.
Essential Requirements
✔ Own your own home (or have written permission from your landlord if renting).
✔ Have a secure, fully enclosed garden.
✔ Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.
✔ Be reliable, trustworthy and organised.
✔ Be confident handling dogs of different breeds, sizes and temperaments.
✔ Be willing to obtain a Home Boarding Licence through your local council (if you don't already have one).
Don't Have a Boarding Licence? That's absolutely fine! I'll personally support you through the entire licensing process, including what's required, how to prepare for the inspection and answering any questions along the way.
Although there's an initial cost to obtaining the licence, this is usually earned back quite quickly through boarding bookings, so please don't let that put you off.
The Best Part... You get all the enjoyable parts of dog boarding without having to build a business from scratch.
Murph's Turf will manage:
- Marketing and advertising
- Customer enquiries
- Meet and greets
- Booking administration
- Invoicing and payments
- Ongoing customer communication
- Continued support and advice whenever you need it
Your role is simply to provide a safe, loving home and exceptional care for the dogs during their stay.
