BM Coaches is looking for an Operations Controller Nights to manage vehicle and driver operations from it’s busy west London depot.
Working a four-on, four-off shift pattern of 12 hour shifts
Key Responsibilities;
Manage our team of drivers to ensure that they have everything to enable them to do their own jobs properly, that they report and depart the depot in a timely manner, with a well-presented appearance.
Ensure that drivers complete First-Use Checks prior to leaving the depot and that the adhoc Vehicle Defect Reporting System is being fully utilised by drivers and that urgent matters are communicated to the Engineering Department.
Carry out and record random and/or targeted drugs and alcohol testing of driving staff.
Liaise with cleaning and engineering staff to ensure that the required vehicles are available for service at the correct times and in the correct condition and that those vehicles are allocated according to the daily rosters provided by the Transport Planning Manager.
Ensure that vehicles are quality-checked for cleanliness and equipment functionality immediately prior to leaving the depot.
Be the first point-of-contact in the case of driver sickness, etc and provide a prompt, professional and concise response to such issues.
Be the first point-of-contact for sales and client enquiries outside of normal office hours.
Investigate client complaints promptly, initiate remedial action and advise client of those actions promptly, record the complaint and the remedial action. Report to Line Manager.
Be the first point of contact for on-the-road issues and ensure that there is a prompt, professional and concise response to such issues.
Action RTA reporting to insurers and General Manager. Undertake driver disciplinary procedures and on-going assessment and training.
Ensure Drivers Digi Cards and Vehicle Tachograph units are download in a timely manner and as requested by Line Manager and the data uploaded to analysis software.
Ensure that drivers and depot staff fuel and clean vehicles upon return to depot.
Ensure depot staff park vehicles in appropriate order for the next days run-out.
Carry out random and/or targeted checks of our buses and coaches in service, auditing for vehicle and driver presentation, schedule compliance, etc.
Support other members of the Supervisory Team.

Required Experience & Attributes;
Minimum of two years experience in a similar role.
PSV Driving Licence and Driver CPC Qualification.
Strong personality, a can-do attitude and attention to detail.
