Overview
At ESW we deliver fabric insulation and energy efficiency measures to residential properties under government-funded schemes, working to strict accreditation, compliance standards (MCS, TrustMark and PAS 2030:2023) and regulations. Our clients turn to us to plan, manage and deliver each referral with careful consideration and technical skill, providing a solution focused, supportive service.
We are looking for someone to manage and guide referrals, and our Install Coordination Delivery team, from assessment and preparation through to delivery and post install complications.
This is a hands-on management role, keeping projects moving through each stage, managing the people and paperwork behind them and acting as the link that holds site, office, operations, admin, and compliance together.
You'll be equally comfortable reporting to a client at a progress meeting, managing a complicated installation process with vulnerable residents, and balancing the financial implications of decisions made.
Duties
- Tracking and monitoring the progress and delivery of retrofit referrals
- Working with the operations managers and administrative staff to assess and create plans for complications and stall points
- Reporting progress and risks to clients and Retrofit Coordinators
- Holding weekly meetings with subcontractors to provide and receive updates
- Ensuring installs are carried out to compliance standards, funding frameworks and associated regulations
- Ensuring post install complications are met appropriately and completed with satisfactory results
- Dealing with end user disputes and complaints
- Evaluating operational costs and reporting inefficiencies
Skills
Essential
- Proven experience managing projects or teams in retrofit, energy efficiency, domestic construction, social housing works or a comparable delivery environment.
- The ability to learn complex information enough to make considered decisions or the initiative to investigate what is required.
- Confident client-facing and reporting skills, comfortable presenting delivery to local authorities, main contractors or similar professional clients.
- Genuine ability to handle difficult conversations and resident issues with patience, professionalism and good judgement.
- Commercial awareness - able to read and evaluate project financials and understand cost and margin.
- Highly organised, with the ability to keep information joined up across site, office and back-office functions.
- Attention to detail with an ability to analyse risk and possible complications.
- Solid IT and systems skills for reporting, tracking and record-keeping.
- Strong multi-tasking. Able to manage a high work load whilst prioritising immediate need.
Desirable
- Working knowledge of MCS, TrustMark and PAS 2030:2023, or experience in an accreditation and compliance-driven environment (or the appetite to get up to speed quickly).
- Familiarity with government-funded schemes and the reporting and evidence they require.
- A relevant qualification in construction, retrofit, project management or energy (helpful but not required).
- Knowledge of planning permission and building regulations.
- An understanding of Health and Safety requirements on site.
