Tynemouth Nursery at Battle Hill are looking for a cook to work Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am - 5pm. You must hold a Food Safety and Hygiene Level 3, and you will be required to have an enhanced DBS check.
The successful candidate will be requried to:
- cook and preparing a healthy, balanced diet for children aged 0 to 5 years in accordance with the nursery menus.
- ensure the day-to-day running of the kitchen complies with registration and legislative requirements, health & safety at all times
- responsible for the planning and preparation of food to provide meals in accordance with Tynemouth Nursery Ltd menus and food policies.
- working along with the government guidelines and making sure the all the nutritional needs are met
- ensuring that all individual dietary requirements are catered for
- maintaining an awareness of food allergies keeping an up to date log of all children in the nursery, working with the staff team during new admissions
- maintaining necessary kitchen procedures and records
- contributing to the team effort of the nursery and to attend staff meetings and social events as and when required
- required to work as part of a team but also be able to work on their own during staff holidays and use your own initiative, managing your own time and prioritise tasks
- undertaking any other reasonable catering duties as requested by the Nursery Manager
