Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dog Groomer to join our professional pet care team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services to dogs of various breeds and sizes, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process. Responsibilities
- Perform grooming procedures including bathing, trimming, clipping, and styling according to breed standards and customer preferences.
- Assess each dog’s health and behaviour prior to grooming, recognising any signs of illness or distress.
- Maintain a safe environment by handling animals gently and securely, ensuring their wellbeing at all times.
- Clean and sanitise grooming tools, equipment, and work areas regularly to uphold hygiene standards.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming needs, aftercare advice, and any health concerns observed during grooming.
- Assist in managing appointment schedules and ensure timely completion of grooming services.
- Keep detailed records of each dog’s grooming history and special requirements.
- Follow all health and safety regulations related to animal handling and workplace safety.
Skills
- Experience in veterinary care or animal care is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of different dog breeds’ grooming requirements.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with pet owners.
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting when handling larger dogs or equipment.
- Compassionate approach towards animals, with patience and gentle handling techniques.
- Organised with attention to detail to ensure high standards of hygiene and grooming quality.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
