Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Yard Operative/Driver to join our team. This role involves the safe handling of goods, efficient delivery, and maintaining organisation within our yard. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, experience in warehouse operations, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks. Duties
- Operate Post Saver macheine.
- Safely operate company vehicles, including lorries and vans, to deliver goods to various locations
- Assist with loading and unloading items, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures are followed
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with the dispatch team
- Organise and manage yard storage areas for efficient stock control
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as heavy lifting, stock movement, and organisation of materials
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times during yard operations and driving activities
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or commercial driver, preferably with relevant certifications such as driver licence
- Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong communication skills for liaising with team members and clients
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving duties
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Physically fit to handle demanding tasks throughout the working day
