Cleaning Supervisor
Location: Fartown , Huddersfield, HD2
Salary: £13.71 per hour
Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Working Pattern: Monday-Friday, 6am - 9am then 3pm - 6pm
Dalkia UK is looking for a reliable and proactive Cleaning Supervisor to join our team in Fartown, Huddersfield.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will provide day-to-day supervision and support to the cleaning team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness are maintained in line with the contracted cleaning specification.
You will help organise cleaning activities, monitor standards and ensure all team members receive the necessary training and work in accordance with health and safety guidelines, maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic environment for employees and visitors.
This role would suit someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards, is confident leading and supporting a team and has an organised, practical approach to delivering a reliable cleaning service.
Main Responsibilities

Supervise, lead and support the cleaning team, providing day-to-day guidance and addressing any operational issues.

Monitor cleaning standards to ensure the contracted cleaning specification and client expectations are met, taking corrective action and reporting any service shortfalls to the Facilities Manager.

Monitor staffing levels to maintain adequate cover and manageable workloads, arranging temporary cover through the Facilities Manager where required.

Monitor and manage sickness, absence and unauthorised absence in accordance with company policies, with support from the Facilities Manager.

Complete and maintain accurate weekly timesheets and absence summaries.

Deliver cleaning services within the agreed contract budget, making effective use of staffing, equipment and consumables.

Schedule and coordinate deep cleans during school holiday periods.

Ensure cleaning activities comply with health and safety requirements, promoting safe working practices to help reduce accidents, incidents and near misses.

Ensure accidents, incidents, near misses and health and safety concerns are reported promptly and managed in line with company procedures.

Ensure cleaning equipment is used appropriately, kept clean and maintained in a safe condition, with cleaning cupboards kept clean and organised.

Monitor and manage stock levels, submitting cleaning consumables orders as required.

Keep the Facilities Manager informed of staffing matters, site issues and any concerns affecting service delivery.

Report maintenance requests and other relevant issues to the Dalkia UK Technical Services Centre.

Ensure staff receive the necessary training, monitor training requirements and encourage ongoing development.

Undertake Performance and Development Reviews (PDRs) for cleaning staff.

Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the level of the role.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required
Essential
- Experience of working in a FM-service delivery environment of contract and service management

Comprehensive knowledge of Commercial Cleaning.

Management of stock control in line with the financial budget.

Client orientated.

Previous Supervisory experience.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Desirable
-
Relevant COSHH training.

BICS qualification.
