Maintenance Person – Care Home

Hours: 9:00am – 4:00pm

We are looking for a reliable and practical Maintenance Person to join our team at Vauxhall Court Care Home. The role involves keeping the building safe, well maintained and compliant for our residents and staff.
Main Duties
- Carry out routine maintenance and general repairs around the care home.
- Complete regular maintenance and health & safety audits.
- Carry out fire safety checks and audits, including checking fire doors and related safety equipment.
- Check door locks, handles, closers and security and carry out minor repairs where possible.
- Identify maintenance issues and ensure they are dealt with promptly.
- Carry out basic decorating and general handyman duties.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance checks and completed work.
- Liaise with external contractors when specialist work is required.
- Ensure the home and grounds are kept safe and in good condition.
Desirable Skills
- Previous maintenance/handyman experience.
- Knowledge of fire safety checks and compliance.
- Basic plumbing knowledge would be an advantage.
- Ability to carry out simple repairs independently.
- Good practical and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, organised and able to prioritise urgent work.
- Previous experience working in a care home or similar environment would be an advantage.
Hours are 9:00am to 4:00pm. The position is available for an immediate start.
Pay: £13.00 per hour
