Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Oversee all aspects of food production, from sourcing ingredients to final plating, ensuring consistency and quality
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including staff scheduling, training, and performance management
- Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, catering to diverse customer preferences
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control costs to optimise kitchen efficiency
- Ensure excellent customer service by coordinating with front-of-house staff during service times
- Train staff in food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and serving procedures
- Uphold organisational policies related to health & safety, cleanliness, and food handling
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment
- Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food production and preparation
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing a team effectively
- In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Strong skills in cooking techniques across various cuisines
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
- Experience in menu development and innovative food presentation
- Good understanding of hospitality operations including serving procedures and customer service excellence
- Ability to motivate staff, foster teamwork, and maintain a positive working environment
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and management
