Duties
- Safely operate a commercial van to deliver packages and goods to various locations within designated routes.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to maximize productivity and meet delivery deadlines.
- Load and unload items with care, including heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring all products are secure during transit.
- Verify delivery details against orders, obtain signatures or proof of delivery, and complete all required documentation accurately.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch or warehouse teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered on the route.
- Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle, conducting routine safety checks before and after shifts.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting recipients professionally, answering questions, and addressing concerns promptly.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role involving commercial driving.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating vans or similar vehicles preferred.
- Knowledge of local roads, traffic laws, and safety regulations related to commercial driving.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Warehouse experience is a plus, providing familiarity with inventory handling and logistical processes.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail in completing deliveries accurately.
