About the Role:
Are you passionate about making a real, lasting difference in the lives of young people? Do you have lived experience and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by young people from diverse ethnic communities across Nottingham City? Al-Hurraya is seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and relatable Peer Lived Mentor to lead our new Positive Pathways project. Funded by the Police and Crime Commissioner for Nottinghamshire, this project delivers tailored mentoring and positive activities to help young people overcome barriers, gain confidence, and build brighter futures.
What You’ll Do:
- Empower Young People: Deliver weekly, young-person-centred 1-to-1 mentoring over 6-month cycles.
- Guide & Support: Help mentees identify their strengths, set personal goals, write CVs, and prepare for education, employment, or training (EET).
- Engage Through Activity: Facilitate positive, interest-led activities like gym visits, boxing, football, and netball to boost mental health, self-esteem, and well-being.
- Connect Communities & Employers: Partner with local employers to secure work experience and job placements, while providing holistic support to mentees and their families.

Pay: £13.00 per hour
