Bid & Proposals Manager

About the Role
We are looking for an organised, proactive and detail-focused Bid & Proposals Manager to manage and coordinate bid and proposal activity across the business.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing structure, quality and control to a strong tendering environment. You will manage submissions from receipt of opportunity through to final submission, coordinating input from technical, commercial, operational, finance, SHEQ and leadership teams to ensure bids are complete, compliant, professional and submitted on time.
The role will cover PQQs, supplier questionnaires, tenders, framework submissions, presentations and supporting documents. You will also help improve our bid templates, standard responses, content library and bid records, supporting a more consistent and efficient approach to bidding.
What’s Involved?
- Managing day to day bid and proposal activity across the business
- Coordinating PQQs, supplier questionnaires, tenders, framework submissions and presentations
- Monitoring client portals, procurement platforms and framework systems for opportunities, updates and deadlines
- Preparing bid plans, submission programmes, responsibility matrices, compliance trackers and review schedules
- Coordinating technical, commercial, operational, finance, SHEQ and leadership input
- Drafting, editing and improving written bid responses and supporting documents
- Using approved internal intelligent assistance tools responsibly to support drafting, editing and bid preparation
- Coordinating pricing, resource planning, programme and delivery methodology input from relevant stakeholders
- Liaising with the Commercial & Contracts Manager on contract review requirements, assumptions, qualifications and key risks
- Supporting weekly bid calls, action tracking and bid pipeline updates
- Maintaining bid records, submission trackers, lessons learned and bid library content
- Supporting the development of standard templates, responses, case studies, CVs and project sheets
- Producing clear updates on bid status, workload, priorities, risks and outcomes
- Supporting handover of successful bids into delivery teams where required
We’d Love to Hear From You If You Have:
- Experience in bid management, proposal management, commercial support, business development support or a similar role
- Experience coordinating PQQs, supplier questionnaires, tenders or framework submissions
- Experience using client portals, procurement platforms or framework systems
- Strong written English, with the ability to draft, edit and improve professional bid content
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines at the same time
- Strong attention to detail, particularly around compliance, formatting, document control and submission requirements
- Good communication skills and confidence coordinating input from busy internal stakeholders
- Commercial awareness and the ability to coordinate pricing, programme, resource and contract review input
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- A calm, proactive and dependable approach to working under pressure
- A strong focus on quality, consistency and professional presentation
It Would Be Great If You Also Have:
- Experience in engineering, infrastructure, utilities, construction, energy, consultancy or professional services
- Experience supporting public sector procurement, regulated tendering or framework submissions
- Experience working with technical, commercial, finance, SHEQ and operational contributors
- Experience developing bid libraries, standard responses, case studies, CVs or project sheets
- Familiarity with APMP principles or a willingness to work towards a bid/proposal management qualification
- Experience using SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, CRM systems, Power BI or similar reporting tools
- An interest in using data to improve bid quality, pipeline visibility and business decision-making
- Experience using AI-assisted tools responsibly to support document drafting, editing or content development

Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
