Be part of a team where passion meets purpose, as we work together where the challenge is greatest to change the lives and build the futures of children and young people.
At Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy, we are seeking a proactive, compassionate and resilient Attendance Assistant to join our dedicated Attendance Team. Working closely with the Attendance Officer, Assistant Principal for Attendance and wider pastoral teams, you will play a key role in promoting excellent attendance, reducing persistent absence and ensuring every student has the opportunity to access the education they deserve.
You will help build positive relationships with students and families, carrying out welfare checks and home visits, supporting first-day response procedures and working collaboratively to identify and overcome barriers to attendance. Through your work, you will help create a culture where attendance is valued, expectations are high and every child feels supported to attend, engage and succeed.
The successful candidate will possess strong literacy, numeracy, communication and IT skills, together with excellent organisational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records. You will be confident working with students, families and external agencies, able to manage sensitive situations professionally and committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a school attendance or pastoral role and be familiar with attendance systems, record keeping and engaging positively with families. However, we also welcome applications from individuals with relevant transferable skills who can demonstrate resilience, professionalism and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people. A full driving licence is essential, as home visits form an important part of the role.
At Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy, we go the extra mile for our young people. We are proud of our inclusive culture and unwavering commitment to ensuring every student feels safe, supported and inspired to achieve their very best. If you are passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people and understand the importance of attendance in unlocking future success, we would love to hear from you.
