Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Dental Therapist to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality preventative and therapeutic dental care, ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your clinical skills within a supportive team environment, contributing to the overall oral health of our patients. A dental therapist will have the ability to work within the full scope of their practice both for NHS and Private work. Days required are Wednesday afternoon and all day Friday.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive dental hygiene assessments and cleanings, including scaling and polishing
- For Therapist to be able to work within the full range of their scope of practice
- Assist with dental procedures, including the application of fluoride treatments and sealants
- Take and interpret dental radiographs and utilise medical imaging techniques as required
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with dentists to develop personalised treatment plans
- Ensure infection control protocols are strictly adhered to in all clinical activities
- Stay updated with advances in anatomy knowledge relevant to dental therapy practices
Qualifications
- recognised qualification as a Dental Therapist from an accredited institution
- Registration with the General Dental Council (GDC) or relevant professional body
- Experience with medical imaging techniques pertinent to dentistry
- Strong knowledge of oral anatomy and pathology
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to reassure and educate patients effectively
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently within a busy clinical environment
