We are welcoming applications from HCPC Registered Clinical/Forensic/Counselling Psychologists wishing to join MKD Enabling Services as a self-employed Associate Clinician. We are increasing our capacity in response to additional requests from our well-established clients who provide children and adult mental health services.
Specifically, we are inviting applications from qualified psychologists with experience in assessment and treatment of adults or children with a range of neurodiverse needs and mental health issues.
MKD Enabling Services is a private specialist clinical practice, comprising of BPS and HCPC Registered Psychologists, providing excellent quality mental health services and assisting people to make positive changes to their lives.
The nature of our provision allows for flexible working for those seeking to work privately within a supportive and dedicated service. Those expressing interest can hold existing employment and/or self-employment within the public or private health sector.
Full details of the associate agreement can be discussed after initial applications have been received and we will make contact with applicants most suited to joining us as Associates.
Hours: Flexible to suit individual circumstances.
Fees: Fees are calculated on daily or hourly rate basis, and negotiable based on qualifications and experience.

Contract: Self Employed Associate Agreement
Current Available Locations:
We currently have a number of Associate positions available in various locations. Associates would be expected to attend the service weekly. Options for some remote working can be discussed. Some of our current Associate Clinicians work across multiple sites in various locations, whilst others cover one site only.
Applicants are invited to express interest in one or more of the available specialist homes across Wirral and Wigan. These are ideal for individuals living in Wirral, Liverpool, Manchester, or the surrounding areas. Names and locations of specific units are available on request.
ASSOCIATE’S RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver a range of assessments and treatments to clients with moderate to severe mental health problems, using appropriate and relevant psychological treatment models.
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions in accordance with the provisions in the client’s therapy plan.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the form of case notes, case files and clinical reports.
- Respect clients’ confidentiality and be responsible for security and accuracy of assigned records, data, and information.
- Keep abreast of latest research and development within your given field.
- Evaluate, test, and implement new techniques, methods and interventions which will improve and/or enhance therapy services within the company.
- Make decisions and clinical judgements involving a range of highly complex factors, sometimes in the context of inadequate or unavailable information or where expert opinion differs.
- Consult and work closely with registered managers, staff carers and other professionals within the organisation providing specialist psychological guidance around all aspects of service users’ care and support needs.
QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND ATTRIBUTES
- Applicants must have Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration and British Psychological Society (BPS) membership is desirable.
- A minimum of two years’ experience post qualification is preferred, although candidates with less experience are encouraged to apply.
- Applicants must also have professional indemnity insurance in place.
- Previous experience of working within Children or/and Adult Mental Health.
- You are expected to have the clinical and interpersonal skills to independently deliver psychological assessment and treatment in a variety of modalities, to the level of excellence MKD Enabling Services aspire to and influenced by relevant guidance and frameworks.
