What you'll be doing
- Working safely at all times by following company procedures, policies and Golden Rules;
- Promoting a strong safety culture by wearing the correct PPE and encouraging others to do the same;
- Making sure all instructions, procedures and requirements are understood before starting any task;
- Carrying out machine inspections, preventative maintenance checks and monitoring wear on tools and equipment;
- Taking part in structured training and building the evidence needed to support competence and NVQ requirements;
- Completing records accurately, including CPCS Logbooks and other relevant competence documentation;
- Demonstrating reliability, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn every day;
- Learning from experienced colleagues, asking questions and challenging anything that does not meet safety standards;
- Identifying opportunities to improve working practices where appropriate.
Who we're looking for
- An active individual who is comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions;
- Someone hardworking, enthusiastic and self-motivated with a positive approach to work;
- A clear communicator who can work well with a range of people on site;
- A willingness to learn, take on feedback and develop new skills;
- A strong awareness of health and safety, with the confidence to promote safe working practices;
- Someone who can recognise issues during day-to-day operations and suggest practical solutions;
- The confidence to stop work if conditions change or safety becomes compromised;
- A current CSCS card and a basic knowledge or interest in plant, piling techniques or ground improvement equipment;
- Good mechanical knowledge or an interest in machinery, tools and equipment;
- A full UK driving licence, NVQ Level 2, GCSE English and Maths, or relevant experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
