Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in analysing and interpreting complex data sets, supporting project management activities, and facilitating effective communication between technical teams and business stakeholders. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise a broad range of data analysis tools and methodologies to drive strategic decision-making and optimise business processes. The ideal applicant will possess strong analytical skills, extensive experience with various data visualisation platforms, and a solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) principles.
Responsibilities
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical specifications, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, and other visualisation tools to provide actionable insights.
- Conduct comprehensive data analysis using SQL, R, Python, and VBA to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project management activities, including planning, execution, and documentation in accordance with SDLC standards.
- Design and optimise database structures within Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and other relational database systems to support reporting needs.
- Assist in database design and data modelling to improve data integrity and efficiency.
- Utilise Visio for process mapping and workflow documentation to facilitate clear communication of business processes.
- Support the development of scripts using Bash (Unix shell) for automation tasks where applicable.
- Provide insights through detailed analysis skills that inform strategic initiatives across departments.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar role with a strong understanding of business analysis principles.
- Proficiency in Tableau, Power BI, SQL (including SQL Server), R, Python, VBA, Oracle databases, and Bash scripting.
- Demonstrable experience with project management methodologies and SDLC processes.
- Strong database design skills coupled with data analysis expertise.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for liaising between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Visio for process modelling is highly desirable.
- A recognised qualification in Business Analysis or related field is preferred but not essential.
