Role: Recycling Operative
Location: Longridge Road, Preston
Hours: 42.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday, plus Saturdays when required
Salary: Potential to earn from £28,254.33 per year

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Recycling Operative to support the day-to-day operations at our busy Preston site.
This is a varied, hands-on role involving vehicle depollution, the safe removal and storage of vehicle parts, general recycling duties and the operation of plant and equipment where appropriately qualified. The role is primarily outdoors and involves manual work and heavy lifting.
- Undertaking the depollution of End-of-Life Vehicles (ELVs) – removing and storing parts safely (full training provided)
- Removing of catalytic convertors from vehicles
- Removing tyres
- Removal of batteries
- Working closely with others, ensuring good communication and following instructions
- Liaising with other teams efficiently
- Operating plant and equipment (if qualified)
- Ensuring all paperwork is completed
- Maintaining all plant and equipment as well as reporting any faults or defects immediately
- FLT Driving (if qualified)
- Banksman duties
- Working outdoors
- Manual work with heavy lifting involved
- Ensuring compliance with environmental and health and safety policy and rules
- Maintaining good housekeeping practices ensuring area is always clean and tidy
- Plus ad-hoc duties

- Be confident working with a wide range of vehicle makes and models
Previous experience in vehicle mechanics would be beneficial but is not essential.
