We supply world-leading materials testing equipment and accessories from our UKAS accredited site in Somerton, Somerset, and we are looking for a Production Technician to join our friendly team.
This is a role with plenty of variety, including travel in the UK and abroad. You will be involved in the manufacture, service, repair and calibration of a range of quality control products, both in-house and at customer’s sites. Your responsibilities will cover mechanical assembly as well as fault finding, and (subject to training) calibration of equipment etc.
Basic administrative skills, along with the ability to follow procedures and a good manner with customers and suppliers is essential.

We will provide training up to UKAS-accredited operator and signatory status if appropriate.
Electrical knowledge is an advantage, but not essential. Where you have experience without qualifications, we would consider providing training to a formal qualification.
The role
- The manufacture, commission, service, repair and, (you will ultimately become a UKAS-accredited Operator/Signatory), calibration and certification of a wide range of products - covering everything from portable equipment up to large, heavy-duty machinery.
- Completion of all necessary testing, paperwork and preparation of products for despatch.
- Working with the Management Team to support ISO compliance.

- Be a quick learner and be able to work unsupervised after training is complete.

- Have good, demonstrable, practical experience in a mechanical engineering environment.
- Have a full driving licence.
- Be willing to learn.

Future development:
We are open to discussion if you have a strong desire to train in a specific area, however you will be expected to undertake any relevant training course funded by or provided by the company to extend and/or improve skill levels, performance and awareness of current requirements.
This job is unsuitable for applicants who currently live outside the UK and will have to relocate to the UK.
