About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and technically capable IT Systems Administrator to support the day-to-day management and continued development of our internal IT systems.
This is a varied role that will sit at the heart of the business, supporting colleagues across all departments and helping us make better use of our systems, software and business data.
The successful candidate will act as the first point of contact between us and our external IT provider, coordinating IT support requirements and ensuring issues are followed through to resolution.
A key part of the role will also be supporting and developing our use of OGL Software, including ProfitPlus, so previous experience and a good working knowledge of these systems is essential.
The position could be particularly well suited to a graduate or someone at an early stage of their IT career who already has strong technical ability and wants the opportunity to develop within a successful and growing business.
Key Responsibilities
The role will include, but is not limited to:
- Acting as the company's first point of contact for our external IT support provider, coordinating issues, requests and ongoing IT requirements.
- Day-to-day administration and support of our OGL/ProfitPlus business systems.
- Helping employees make effective use of ProfitPlus and identifying opportunities to improve how the system is used across the business.
- Managing and maintaining the company's IT hardware and software, including computers, laptops, printers, mobile devices and associated equipment.
- Assisting with the setup of IT equipment, software and system access for new employees.
- Maintaining accurate records of company IT equipment, licences, software and users.
- Supporting employees with day-to-day IT and systems queries.
- Producing and developing reports for employees and management across all areas of the business.
- Extracting, analysing and presenting business data in a clear and useful format.
- Developing spreadsheets, reports, templates and tools to improve efficiency and visibility of information.
- Supporting improvements to internal IT processes, systems and reporting.
- Liaising with external suppliers regarding IT equipment, software and services where required.
- Helping ensure appropriate IT security, access controls, backups and system procedures are maintained in conjunction with our external IT provider.
Essential Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone with:
- Previous experience using OGL Software and ProfitPlus – essential.
- Excellent Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365 knowledge.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to confidently work with formulas, functions, PivotTables, lookups, data analysis and reporting.
- Strong general IT and systems knowledge.
- A good understanding of computer hardware and software.
- The ability to troubleshoot problems logically and communicate effectively with external technical support.
- Strong analytical skills and confidence working with business data.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to communicate technical information clearly to colleagues who may not have a technical background.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to identify better and more efficient ways of working.
Who Would This Role Suit?
We are open to candidates from different backgrounds. The role could suit an experienced systems administrator looking for a new challenge, but we would also particularly welcome applications from a recent IT, Computer Science, Business Information Systems or similar graduate who has the right technical aptitude and relevant OGL/ProfitPlus experience.
You don't need to know everything from day one. We are looking for someone who is naturally confident with technology, enjoys solving problems, is exceptionally comfortable with Excel and data, and wants to develop their knowledge as the business continues to grow.
