Are you ready to elevate your engineering career and lead a dedicated team toward world-class maintenance standards? Holcim, a leading global supplier of traditional and sustainable construction materials, is looking for a dynamic Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader to join our team on-site at our Callow Rock quarry.
In this vital role, you will be the driving force behind keeping our plant operating safely at maximum design capacity. If you are looking for an impactful, permanent position where you can champion continuous improvement, instigate root-cause analysis, and make a tangible difference in a supportive and forward-thinking environment, this is the place to build your future.
As part of the maintenance team at Holcim, your essential functions will include:
Leading Safety & Excellence: Collaborating with the Engineering Manager to cultivate an exceptional health, safety, and environmental culture on-site while complying with all current legislation.
Maximising Plant Availability: Minimising unplanned downtime by planning both preventative and reactive maintenance schedules using our Jotform and Key2 systems.
Rapid Problem Solving: Leading the swift response to breakdowns and unplanned repairs, ensuring temporary fixes are efficiently transitioned into permanent, robust solutions.
Team & Contractor Coordination: Organising and supporting a multi-skilled workforce of maintenance fitters and managing external contractors, including the site induction process.
Asset & Spares Stewardship: Proactively managing resource utilization, cost-effective solutions, and the stores/spares recording systems.
To be successful in this role, you will bring a collaborative mindset and a passion for engineering excellence. You are a natural coordinator who can guide a team with integrity, encouraging positive behaviors across all levels of the business.
Experienced & Skilled: You possess a solid background in the engineering maintenance industry, with a deep understanding of safe working practices, permits to work, and 'live working' rules.
Qualified: You hold a Level 2/3 NVQ in Plant Maintenance (or equivalent experience)
Safety-Focused: You have strong, practical knowledge of health and safety principles, risk assessments, manual handling, and lifting/slinging operations.
Digitally Savvy: You are IT literate with good PC skills, comfortable navigating computer maintenance systems like Key2, and possess great attention to detail.
Adaptable Communicator: You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, allowing you to clearly convey technical plant conditions to management and influence positive changes.
Equipment Capable (Desirable): Holding qualifications for mobile equipment such as MEWPs, Telehandlers, counterbalance forklifts, or being CONSAR trained is a distinct advantage.
We are committed to building a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. You will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or age.
