Early Years Practitioner (Level 3 NVQ) – Key Person Role

Term-time only (39 weeks per year)
Christchurch Nursery is a welcoming, community-focused setting located within the grounds of Christchurch Primary School in Folkestone. We are looking for a qualified Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our friendly and dedicated team. The successful candidate will take on key person responsibilities, building strong relationships with children and their families while supporting each child’s individual learning and development.
About the Role
As an Early Years Practitioner, you will:
- Act as a key person, supporting a small group of children and maintaining strong partnerships with their families
- Observe, assess and plan for children’s development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Create a warm, engaging and inclusive environment where children feel confident to explore and learn
- Support children to develop independence, communication and positive behaviour
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver engaging indoor and outdoor learning experiences
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and stimulating nursery environment
- Working hours are from 8.30-4 on weekdays.

What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (NVQ or equivalent)
- Have experience working with children aged 2–4 years
- Be enthusiastic, patient and caring
- Demonstrate a good understanding of the EYFS framework
- Be confident in observing children and planning next steps
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
