Our client is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join their manufacturing team within a precision engineering environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist who enjoys hands-on engineering work and producing high quality components to tight tolerances.
This role is suited to someone confident working with manual machines in a fast paced workshop, where accuracy, attention to detail, and pride in workmanship are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual machining equipment including lathes, milling machines, and related workshop tools
- Manufacture precision components to engineering drawings and specifications
- Work to tight tolerances ensuring high levels of accuracy and quality
- Carry out routine checks and measurements using precision measuring equipment
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet manufacturing requirements
- Identify and report any quality or machining issues promptly
Skills, Experience, and Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Manual Machinist in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong understanding of machining principles and workshop practices
- Experience using precision measuring equipment (e.g. verniers, micrometers, gauges)
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Experience with both milling and turning operations
- Background in precision engineering or low-volume/high-mix manufacturing
- Apprenticeship or engineering qualification (HNC/HND or equivalent)
