About the Role
OEG Offshore Technology is looking for an experienced Senior Installation & Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Lowestoft.
This is a senior, hands-on engineering role responsible for supporting operational activities across our service lines, with a particular focus on the installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of offshore technology systems and equipment.
You will act as a senior point of contact for the Installation & Maintenance team, providing technical leadership, supporting project delivery and leading on-site activities during mobilisations and offshore and onshore operations.
The role is ideal for an experienced offshore engineer who combines strong technical capability with leadership skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the build, configuration, system testing, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of equipment and systems.
- Build and configure equipment and systems in accordance with design specifications.
- Lead on-site activities during project mobilisations, kick-offs and offshore and onshore operations.
- Manage, support and mentor members of the Installation & Maintenance team.
- Act as the senior engineering point of contact for operational project delivery.
- Work closely with Project Managers and the OT Delivery Lead to prioritise operational requirements and allocate resources effectively.
- Support the end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring work is completed safely, to a high standard, on time and within defined budgets.
- Produce and support technical documentation, including system schematics, installation guides, technical reports, installation reports, method statements and risk assessments.
- Support the development and growth of OEG Offshore Technology's services.
- Review and improve operational and project processes to enhance safety, quality, productivity and efficiency.
- Collaborate across engineering, project delivery, business development and technical teams to ensure effective integration of technology and operational requirements.
- Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, environmental and information security performance.
Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone with:
- Significant experience within the offshore sector, ideally within offshore energy, technology or engineering projects.
- Strong practical experience in the installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of technical systems and equipment.
- The ability to lead and support multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- A commercially aware and pragmatic approach to problem solving.
- Confidence working independently and taking the lead during site and offshore operations.
- Strong attention to safety, quality and technical standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A relevant Level 3 qualification, or demonstrable equivalent experience, within science, engineering, communications, offshore technology or a related discipline.
- 10+ years' relevant experience within the offshore sector.
- GWO Basic Safety Training (BST).
- OEUK Medical.
- Willingness and ability to undertake approximately 60 days of site/offshore work per year.
QHSE & Information Security
As a senior member of the operational team, you will be expected to promote a proactive health and safety culture and ensure work is completed in accordance with relevant risk assessments, working practices and company procedures.
You will also support compliance with OEG's management systems and applicable ISO standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 27001, while promoting continual improvement across safety, quality, environmental and information security performance.
What We're Looking For
This position would suit an experienced offshore engineer who enjoys combining practical engineering work with technical leadership and team development.
You will be comfortable taking ownership of operational activities, working directly with project teams and customers, and leading installations and maintenance activities both onshore and offshore.
