Associate Speech and Language Therapist
Location: Yeovil, Somerset
Rate: £50–£70 per hour plus paid travel time and mileage
Hours: Flexible, to be agreed around the client’s needs and therapist availability
Contract: Associate contract, with the potential for further work
KT Healthcare is a family-run organisation providing assessment and therapeutic services across the Neurodevelopmental, Brain Injury and Complex Care sectors. Our team of clinicians work on a sub-contracting basis – they are highly specialist and deliver high-quality assessments, reports, and therapy sessions within a multidisciplinary team.
We’re looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to support a 35-year-old client with an acquired brain injury.
The client continues to present with a cognitive-communication disorder and difficulties with social communication. The role will involve completing a comprehensive assessment to identify the nature and impact of these difficulties and developing appropriate intervention and practical strategies to optimise functional communication.
The assessment and subsequent intervention will focus on supporting the client across a range of everyday environments, including:
- Functional communication in everyday life
- Social communication and interaction
- Cognitive-communication skills
- Communication within vocational settings
- Practical strategies to support independence and participation
- Identifying strategies for the client and those around them to optimise communication
We’re looking for an SLT with experience in acquired brain injury, cognitive-communication disorders and social communication difficulties, ideally with experience supporting adults in vocational and community settings.
