The job in one line
We need someone to appear in short videos advertising an eco-friendly household and body care brand — one day a week, in Hackney Wick, reading from scripts we give you, using equipment we provide.
What this actually involves
You turn up at the location we've booked — usually our space on Wallis Road. We hand you a script and set up the camera. You talk to the camera about the products — the washing-up liquid, the shampoo, the surface spray — and we film it. You'll do each line a few times so our editors have options. Then you go home.
That's it. The videos end up on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
You don't need: acting experience, camera experience, your own equipment, or any editing skills. We provide everything and we'll show you how it works on day one.
Who we're looking for
- You're comfortable talking to a camera. Some people freeze up, some people are naturally themselves. If friends would say you're warm and easy to listen to, that's the whole thing.
- You'd be believable talking about these products. The scripts are written from the point of view of the person who does the household shop and buys this stuff for a family. If that's you, it'll sound natural.
- You're reliable. We book shoot days in advance and plan the week around you. We need you to turn up.
- You're happy to take direction and do a line again — and again — until we've got it right. This is the bit most people find surprising, and it's the bit that matters most.
- Clear, confident spoken English that a UK audience will find easy to listen to.
- You can work in the UK.
An interest in eco-friendly products is a bonus, not a requirement.
Hours, pay and perks
- £15–£18 per hour depending on experience — that's £120–£144 for a full day's work
- 8 hours a week. Either one full day, or two half days — your choice, agreed with us in advance
- Flexible. We fit around school runs, other jobs and existing commitments. Tell us what works and we'll plan around it
- 75% off the brand you promote — the full household and body care range, for your own use
- Paid holiday, pro-rata to your hours
- A proper employed job, not freelance — with holiday and sick pay entitlements
Start date: as soon as possible. We're ready to start filming, so tell us the earliest you could begin.
The contract: four months to start, with the intention of making it permanent — still part-time, still one day a week — subject to performance.
Where
Hackney Wick, London E9. Our base is 94B Wallis Road, two minutes from the Overground, and shoots happen there or at other locations close by.
Everything takes place on your scheduled shoot days.
How to apply
Two things:
- Your CV, along with a couple of lines on why the job appeals to you.
- A short video on your phone, 30 to 60 seconds, of you selling us a toothpaste, a deodorant or a shower gel. Any brand, your own words, anything you like. Film it in your kitchen or bathroom — genuinely, that's fine. We're looking at whether you're natural on camera, not at your filming skills. Don't script it and don't over-think it.
No closing date — we look at applications as they arrive and get back to people quickly. We're looking to fill this now, so it's worth applying sooner rather than later.
