Overview
We are a new multidisciplinary health and wellness destination opening on Orpington High Street in January 2027. We combine a clinical practice led by osteopaths and physiotherapists with a reformer Pilates and strength studio and a health-focused cafe - all under one roof.
Our studio is not a high-volume fitness brand. Classes run in small groups of six, combining reformer Pilates and strength training in a way that is intelligent, progressive, and informed by real clinical expertise. We are building something with depth and longevity - and we need the right person to help us launch it.
We are established brand of 5+ years. We are keeping our business identity confidential due to commercial sensitivities. Further details about the business will be shared with candidates during the interview process.
The role
This is a dual teaching and management position. Roughly half your time you will be on the reformer floor delivering exceptional classes. The other half you will be running the studio - managing bookings, looking after clients, supporting our pre-launch campaign, and helping us build something special from the ground up.
You will be one of our first hires, which means genuine influence over how the studio takes shape. You will report directly to our Director and play a central role in recruiting and managing a small team of self-employed instructors.
You will be engaged on a paid, ad-hoc basis from October to December, supporting strategy, recruitment, planning and pre-launch preparation. The role will transition to a full-time, salaried position once the business is open and operational.
What you will be doing
- Delivering reformer Pilates, mat Pilates, and strength classes (approx. 8-10 per week)
- Teaching our flagship Forge class - a hybrid reformer and strength format unique to Bodysmiths
- Delivering one-to-one sessions for clients with specific goals or needs
- Day-to-day studio management: timetabling, bookings, client communications, and equipment
- Owning the client journey from first enquiry through to ongoing membership
- Recruiting and managing approximately two self-employed instructors
- Supporting our founding membership campaign ahead of opening
