Full job description: Assistant Transport Planner
We currently have an exciting role for an Assistant Transport Planner, providing an excellent opportunity to join the MLD team at our Scunthorpe site. The Assistant Transport Planner position is Monday – Friday 06:00-17:00 with scheduled weekend coverage on a rotational basis.
About the Role:
- Planning Vehicle Runs
- Responsible for rating up new customer orders
- On-Boarding new customers and ensuring their preferences are communicated and rolled out amongst the team
- Processing Customer Orders
- Managing Customer Portals
- Support with Traffic management through the day
- Plan in scheduled maintenance appointments
- Accurate recording of trailer locations
- Assist with driver and vehicle allocation, booking agency drivers etc
What we are looking for:
- Experienced transport planner, traffic operator ideally within general haulage or someone interested and willing to learn.
- Reliable and flexible to meet the needs of the business
- Effective communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Organised, able to prioritise and multi-task
- Able to prioritise and multi-task
- Calm under pressure
- IT literate, competent in Microsoft packages
- Self-motivated, flexible and confident
