How you'll make a difference:
As a Weekend Community Meals Catering Assistant, you will help prepare nutritious, high-quality meals for elderly and vulnerable members of the community who may be unable to cook for themselves. This is rewarding role helps make a positive difference to the lives of those most in need.
What you will be doing:
- Working alongside the Cook, you will support the preparation and cooking of a range of hot and cold meals and snacks for lunch and dinner services.
- You will help ensure meals are prepared, packed and ready on time for collection and distribution to members of the local community.
- It will be your responsibility to maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene, carrying out cleaning duties and completing scheduled cleaning tasks.
What we need from you:
- We are looking for someone who can work efficiently and maintain a consistent pace while ensuring high standards of quality and service.

It is essential that you have attention to detail, as you will be required to follow instructions carefully, including preparing and packing meals in line with delivery schedules and meal allocation lists.
- You will be committed to maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, food safety and hygiene, helping to ensure a safe and well-organised working environment at all times.
- Ideally, you will have previous experience of working in a food preparation or catering environment.
What you need to know:
- Community meals is a year-round service, including Christmas and Bank holidays.

Weekend working: Saturday and Sunday, your hours will be 8am – 12pm with a flexible approach. We would consider every other weekend working as a rota pattern.

Sunday pay enhancement is time & half.

Your uniform will be provided.

We will offer food hygiene and allergen training if required.
Interviews will be held on the 12th August 2026.
