Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Construction Plant Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting construction equipment and plant machinery to various sites using flatbed lorries. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, and the ability to manage deliveries efficiently. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting the smooth operation of construction projects through timely and secure plant deliveries.
When not driving and delivering you would be helping our yard supervisor around our yard with the maintenance, cleaning, and organisation of our facility and all our equipment.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed lorries for the delivery of construction plant and equipment to designated sites.
- Ensure all loads are properly secured and compliant with safety standards before departure.
- Plan delivery routes effectively, considering traffic, site access, and delivery schedules.
- Assist with loading and unloading plant machinery using appropriate lifting equipment where necessary.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with site managers and dispatch teams.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure the lorry is in good working condition and report any faults promptly.
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies during transit and at delivery points.
- Provide excellent customer service by maintaining professionalism when interacting with clients on-site.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably within the construction or plant hire industry - Desired but not essential.
- Demonstrable knowledge of flatbed lorry operation and securing loads safely - Desired but not essential.
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving, with a clean driving record.
- Experience in handling construction machinery or plant equipment is advantageous.
- Familiarity with delivery routes within urban and rural areas, demonstrating good navigation skills.

Pay: From £27,000.00 per year
