Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of food preparation, kitchen operations, and team management to ensure the delivery of high-quality dishes that meet our standards. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food quality.
- Oversee food production, from preparation to presentation, ensuring consistency and excellence.
- Manage all aspects of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Develop menus in collaboration with management, incorporating innovative dishes while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory to minimise waste and control costs.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Maintain organisational standards for serving guests with professionalism and hospitality.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior culinary role, preferably as a Head Chef or Sous Chef within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management.
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and regulations.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with a focus on team development and training.
- Experience in menu development, food presentation, and customer service excellence.
- Previous restaurant experience is essential; hospitality background is highly desirable.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
