Warehouse Operative / Delivery Driver Daman of Witham Ltd – Witham, Essex
Salary: £26,000–£30,000 per annum, depending on experience

Daman of Witham Ltd is an established independent bathroom retailer based in Witham, Essex. We are looking for a reliable, organised and hardworking Warehouse Operative / Delivery Driver to join our small, friendly team. This is a varied role combining responsibility for the day-to-day organisation of our warehouse with deliveries to customers throughout the local area. Our products include bathroom furniture, sanitaryware, baths, shower enclosures, brassware and tiles. Many of these products are high-value, heavy and/or fragile, so care, attention to detail and good organisation are particularly important. We are looking for someone who will take ownership of the warehouse and delivery side of the business rather than simply carry out individual tasks.
Main Responsibilities: Receiving and checking incoming supplier deliveries. Checking goods for damage, shortages or discrepancies. Organising and maintaining the warehouse. Picking and preparing customer orders. Carefully checking orders before they leave the warehouse. Loading and unloading delivery vehicles. Safely handling heavy, bulky and fragile bathroom products. Making deliveries to customers' homes and building sites. Providing a friendly and professional service when dealing with customers. Obtaining proof of delivery where required. Assisting with stock checks and maintaining accurate stock records. Operating a forklift where appropriate. Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and safe. Looking after the company delivery vehicle and carrying out basic vehicle checks. Communicating any stock, delivery or product issues promptly to the relevant member of the team.
The Person We're Looking For: This position would suit someone who enjoys a varied, practical role and is comfortable taking responsibility for their own area of the business.
Ideally, you will be: Reliable and punctual. Well organised and able to prioritise your workload. Careful and methodical when checking products and paperwork. Physically capable of handling heavy and bulky products. Friendly, presentable and professional with customers. Able to work independently without constant supervision. Willing to work as part of a small team and help colleagues when required. Safety conscious when lifting, loading, driving and working within the warehouse. Comfortable adapting when delivery schedules and priorities change.
Experience & Requirements Essential: Full UK driving licence. Good driving record. Comfortable driving a delivery van. Physically capable of carrying out a hands-on warehouse and delivery role. Good communication skills. Basic numeracy and literacy. Ability to accurately check orders, quantities and delivery paperwork.
Preferable: Forklift experience and/or a current forklift licence. Previous warehouse experience. Previous multi-drop or customer delivery experience. Experience handling heavy, bulky or fragile goods. Experience within the building, plumbing, bathroom or similar trade sector.
Hours & Salary: The position is ideally full-time, Monday to Friday. However, we would also consider someone looking to work 3–4 days per week if they are the right candidate for the position.
Salary: £26,000–£30,000 per annum depending on experience (pro rata for part-time). Working hours: [8.30am to 5.00pm]
