Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, including materials handling, stock management, and shipping and receiving activities. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in warehouse management systems and mechanical processes within a dynamic environment. Prior warehouse experience and familiarity with forklift operation are highly desirable.
Duties
- Handling materials efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and manual tools
- Managing stock levels through accurate stocking, picking, and packing of items
- Loading and unloading goods from lorries and containers, ensuring safe handling practices
- Assisting with shipping and receiving procedures, including documentation using systems like AS400
- Organising warehouse layout to optimise space utilisation and workflow
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Supporting inventory management activities through regular stock checks and updates in the warehouse management system
- Performing basic mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance when required
Experience
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for specific systems such as AS400 and forklift operation
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and warehouse management systems is advantageous
- Mechanical knowledge or experience in construction or related fields will be considered a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily operations
- Familiarity with stock control processes including picking & packing, shipping & receiving, load & unload procedures
- Competence in operating forklift equipment safely (training provided if necessary)
