The Role
This role is ideal for someone who has graduated from an RICS accredited property degree (Not Building Surveying) and wants to progress toward becoming Chartered.
Your initial training will be delivered by one of our Senior Surveyors and the whole team will help you progress to eventually take your APC.
Day-to-day tasks and responsibilities will involve visiting GP surgeries to carry out property inspections, including measuring buildings and drawing floorplans. You will undertake rent reviews, including negotiations, and produce lease heads of terms and market valuations.
There is an element of travel involved and the occasional overnight stay as we carry out property inspections across the UK. Generous car mileage is provided, we just ask that you hold a clean driving licence. It is also mandatory to undertake our initial in person training in Sheffield and any additional training as and when required, as well as attend and contributing to in person team meetings every eight weeks in Sheffield.
You’ll report directly to one of the Directors and work closely with the surveying team and other internal functions including sales and marketing.
Even though you’ll have your own workload to manage, you’ll be working collaboratively as part of a wider team. You’ll need to be a confident communicator who’s equally as comfortable speaking with colleagues as you with clients and third-party professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Property inspection including measuring buildings and drawing floor plans
- Undertaking rent reviews (Incl. negotiations), valuations and lease consultations
- Liaising with clients and third parties e.g. other surveyors, solicitors
- Managing a case load efficiently to meet billing targets.
- Attend and contribute towards in person meetings, in Sheffield, ever eight weeks.
