Are you a recent graduate looking to start your career in education? We are recruiting a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Slough to join a warm, well-regarded primary school in the SL2 area from September 2026.
This is a full-time, long-term Teaching Assistant role for at least the full academic year, offering genuine classroom experience and a clear pathway into teaching.
The role
- Full-time Graduate Teaching Assistant position, Monday to Friday, term time
- Supporting the class teacher with whole-class, small-group and 1:1 learning
- Working with pupils across the primary age range to build confidence, literacy and numeracy
- Assisting with lesson preparation, classroom organisation and pupil progress tracking
- Contributing to a positive, inclusive classroom environment

The school has an excellent record of supporting Teaching Assistants into teacher training, and staff joining this year will have access to that support and mentoring from experienced teachers.
Who we're looking for
- A recent graduate - any degree discipline considered
- Available full time from September 2026 for the full academic year
- Willing to obtain an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (we will guide you through this)
- Reliable, proactive and genuinely interested in working with primary-aged children
- Aspiring teachers strongly encouraged to apply — this role is ideal preparation for a PGCE, School Direct or apprenticeship route
- Previous experience with children (tutoring, sports coaching, volunteering, mentoring, youth work) is welcome but not essential
