We have an exciting opportunity for a reliable and experienced Divisional Compliance Manager to join our dynamic team. This permanent position is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance their career and gain hands-on experience in a thriving and supportive organisation.
In this role, you will be accountable for the safe and compliant delivery of gas works and statutory compliance activities across all Mountjoy service streams, while identifying and supporting opportunities for business growth within the gas discipline. Although gas is the primary focus of the role, a strong mechanical understanding is essential, including Water Hygiene (Legionella) and Plumbing, together with an overarching awareness of F-Gas, Air Conditioning, and Heat Pump systems. You will also lead and manage Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) compliance across contracts, ensuring all statutory obligations are met. Whilst Commercial Gas qualifications are not required, a sound understanding of commercial gas systems and the management of commercial gas PPM compliance is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Gas
- Be the Gas Duty Holder for Mountjoy, verifying gas works, ensuring compliance to current statutory regulations. (Desirable)
- Own the Gas MMS and RAMS, ensuring these are kept up to date with legislation and best practise and are adhered to by self-delivered trades and subcontractors across the division
- Technical advice on gas issues
- Approval of gas subcontractors
- Gas technical auditing
- Mechanical compliance oversight, including Water Hygiene (Legionella) management and Plumbing systems
- This is a regional role with time split primarily between the Isle of Wight and Horsham contracts; from time to time, other contracts may require support, and travel will be expected accordingly
PPM Compliance
- Responsible for Compliance Technical & Legislative Updates being communicated to all relevant contracts
- To ensure the PPM programmes are fit for purpose for the estate condition and asset usage to reduce breakdowns, advising teams and clients where improvements are needed (PPM amends and lifecycle requirements)
- Set the standard for PPM tasks, method statements, training & competency requirements using SFG20 as a basis
- To ensure the trades and subcontractors have the required training & equipment to carry out the PPM tasks
- To audit documentation and in the field to ensure the PPM is carried out on time to the correct safety and quality standards
- To ensure all certification and compliance documentation are kept up to date
- Review key service reports (as required) to ensure compliant and remedials quoted, agreed & actioned as required
- To challenge subcontractors and trades to ensure correct and proportionate remedials are raised and completed in a timely manner
- Re-procurement of PPM subcontractor packages
- To provide technical advice as required
- Support on maintaining technical accreditations where required
- To forge strong working relationships with Client Technical Representatives
- Escalate to the Contract Manager any serious events or occurrences that need to be addressed urgently, and highlight key issues, trends or issues that could affect service delivery performance longer term if not addressed
- Reinforce the Health and Safety culture by ensuring that company practices and policies are being followed and adhered to by you and others in the field, undertaking documented observations, highlighting issues and trends as they occur.

QUALIFICATION REQUIRED
- Degree, Diploma, HNC in an engineering discipline (Desirable)
- Gas Safe Accreditation
- Current ACS qualified to include the following elements: CCN1, CENTWAT, HTR1, CKR1 or to have held it recently.
- Construction Skills Certificate Scheme accreditation.
- IOSH Managing Safely.
- Have a full driving licence.
- Membership of a relevant professional technical body with chartership (Desirable or working towards)
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Building maintenance environment (Essential)
- Demonstrable experience succeeding in compliant delivery of PPM across a varied estate
- Technical building knowledge of working methods, practices, procedures, processes, regulations, and legislation.
- Knowledge of Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998
- Strong diagnostic experience
- Central heating installation experience
- The role also requires you to support the team with your technical knowledge therefore previous experience and a qualification in a Gas Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) is essential.
- Have knowledge of the materials and methods used in the construction of social housing.
