Summary
We are looking for a driver to join our expanding transport team in Olney. The delivery driver will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of goods to predetermined customers on specific routes, loading and unloading vans and providing exceptional customer service to our client base.
As a Delivery Driver you will be required to:
- Load products onto vans according to company's specifications
- Deliver orders to customers on assigned routes
- Maintain ongoing communication with customer and/or office
- Unload goods as per client specifications and requirements
- Review deliveries with customers to ensure products meet their needs
- Obtain delivery confirmation/signatures on delivery notes from each customer
Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate a delivery van to transport goods to customers
- Load and unload products from the van, ensuring proper handling and securing of items
- Follow delivery schedules and routes provided by the company
- Verify the accuracy of delivery orders and obtain necessary signatures or proof of delivery
- Communicate with customers in a professional and courteous manner
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as checking oil levels and tire pressure
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving
Experience:
A full UK Driving Licence with less than 6 points is essential for this position.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and requirements
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
