We're looking for an experienced Project Manager who can take ownership of complex projects and get them delivered.
Financial services experience is not required. Strong project management experience is.
The Role
This is a hands-on delivery role.
You'll take projects from an initial idea or business problem and own them through the entire project life cycle - research, scoping, requirements, planning, developing, testing, implementation, and post-launch measurement.
You won't be handed a perfectly written specification and a step-by-step list of what to do next.
We need someone capable of taking a broad objective, understanding it properly, carrying out the necessary research, asking the right questions, and turning it into a structured project with clear requirements, owners, milestones, and deadlines.
Once a project starts, you own its delivery.
You’ll work directly with developers, suppliers, operational teams and Heads of Department, bringing together people with different priorities and making sure everyone knows exactly what is expected of them and when.
What You'll Be Doing
You’ll be responsible for:
- Taking ownership of multiple projects from initial scope through to delivery and measurement
- Researching unfamiliar subjects and becoming knowledgeable enough to lead the project confidently
- Turning business problems and ideas into clear scopes, requirements and delivery plans
- Working closely with developers and translating operational requirements into clear development requirements
- Managing internal stakeholders, Heads of Department and external suppliers
- Establishing clear milestones, dependencies, owners and deadlines
- Running project meetings and ensuring actions actually happen afterwards
- Identifying risks, blockers and dependencies before they become problems
- Challenging missed deadlines and preventing unnecessary project slip
- Coordinating testing and ensuring solutions are genuinely ready before launch
- Managing implementation and communicating changes effectively across the business
- Monitoring projects after launch to establish whether they actually delivered the intended result
- Using data and agreed success measures to evaluate performance
- Documenting decisions, requirements and outcomes accurately throughout the lifecycle
What We're Looking For
Attention to detail is absolutely critical.
We need someone meticulous. Someone who notices when something doesn't add up, follows actions through and doesn't assume somebody else has dealt with something.
You’ll already have experience successfully delivering complex projects and be comfortable doing so without having your hand held.
You should be:
- An experienced Project Manager with evidence of delivering complex projects
- Exceptionally organised with meticulous attention to detail
- Comfortable taking complete ownership and accountability
- Experienced working directly with software developers or technical teams
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and Heads of Department
- An excellent researcher who can quickly understand unfamiliar subjects
- Able to create structure from an initially ambiguous idea or problem
- Comfortable challenging people constructively when deadlines are at risk
- Highly conscious of deadlines, dependencies and project slip
- Able to manage several moving parts without losing sight of the detail
- Commercially minded – interested in whether a project actually worked, not simply whether it launched
- A strong written and verbal communicator
