We are a successful Deaf-led organisation supporting Deaf people across employment, education, health, business and community settings. As our services continue to grow, we are looking for a highly organised, proactive and professional Communication Support Worker / Interpreter to work directly with our Director.
This is a unique opportunity to become a key member of our senior management support team, helping to ensure effective communication, organisation and day-to-day business operations.
About the Role
You will work closely with the Director, providing communication support, administrative and telephone assistance and practical day-to-day support across a wide range of activities.
Your role may include:
- Providing BSL ↔ English communication support in person and on phone
- Attending meetings in person and remotely
- Assisting with emails, correspondence and reports
- Supporting diary management and scheduling
- Taking notes and recording actions from meetings
- Liaising with clients, staff and external organisations
- Supporting project coordination and follow-up actions
- Assisting with presentations, documents and online systems
- Travel to Brentwood, Upminster and other locations
No two days are the same, making this an exciting and varied role.
What We Are Looking For
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- BSL Level 3 or above (or equivalent communication skills)
- Experience as a CSW, PA, Executive Assistant, Administrator or similar role
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong organisational and IT skills
- A professional and confidential approach
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work remotely, office based and independently and use initiative
- A genuine commitment to understandingDeaf equality and inclusion
A current DBS check would be advantageous.
