Our NovaCity Alternative Provision is expanding!
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Forrest School and/or Duke of Edinburgh Practitioners to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will inspire and guide young people through outdoor learning experiences, fostering confidence, resilience, and teamwork.

Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate outdoor activities aligned with Forrest School principles or Duke of Edinburgh Award schemes, ensuring safety and enjoyment for all participants
- Mentor young people during expeditions, skill sessions, and team challenges, encouraging leadership and independence
- Prepare and deliver engaging lessons that promote environmental stewardship, outdoor skills, and personal development
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure all activities adhere to health and safety regulations
- Support participants in achieving their personal goals within the program framework, providing guidance and encouragement throughout their journey
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan sessions, monitor progress, and evaluate participant achievements
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress reports, and activity logs to support ongoing development
Skills
- Proven experience in working with young people , with a strong understanding of outdoor education principles
- Ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds, including those requiring special education support
- Excellent mentoring skills with a positive attitude that motivates young people to excel
- Strong communication skills to clearly convey instructions and foster a supportive learning environment
- Knowledge of outdoor safety protocols, risk management, and first aid procedures
- Passion for environmental education, adventure activities, or youth development programs

Pay: £16.00-£18.00 per hour
