Responsibilities
- Operate loading shovels and excavators with precision to handle bulk materials safely and efficiently
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are maintained
- Assist with the loading and unloading of materials from trucks, containers, or storage areas
- Follow all safety protocols and site procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a secure working environment
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate material movement and maintain workflow continuity
- Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage, maintenance needs, and material movements
- Support minor mechanical troubleshooting and report any equipment issues promptly for repairs
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge to operate and maintain heavy machinery effectively
- Proven experience operating excavators or similar heavy equipment in a commercial setting
- Valid commercial driving license with relevant endorsements for operating heavy vehicles on-site
- Ability to follow detailed safety instructions and adhere to operational procedures
- Good communication skills for teamwork and reporting maintenance or safety concerns
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks and operate machinery throughout shifts
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing operational needs
