The Argyle Arms is an independent neighbourhood pub in Brighton, voted Best Pub in East Sussex at the National Pub & Bar Awards 2025.
No split shifts. Monday & Tuesday kitchen closed (2 set days off as minimum).
Our food is centred around low & slow barbecue, inspired by Texas smokehouses and barbecue specials from around the world. Our kitchen staff do not need experience in this field.
We're looking for a reliable and motivated kitchen assistant to join our small kitchen team. No barbecue experience is required, just a good attitude, strong work ethic and a passion for food.
The Role
- Food prep, sauces, sides & garnishes
- Supporting service in a small, friendly team
- Stock rotation, organisation & stock counts
- Maintaining excellent food safety, cleanliness & hygiene standards
- Pot wash through service
What We're Looking For
- At least 1 year of professional kitchen experience
- Reliable, organised and hardworking
- Good presentation, personal hygiene and attention to detail
- Comfortable working evenings and weekends
- Food Safety (preferred but not essentia)

- Mon & Tues: Closed
- Weds & Thurs: 5pm–9pm
- Fri: 3pm–9pm
- Sat: 1pm–9pm
- Sun: 12pm–5pm
