Liverpool Civil Law is a modern and growing civil chambers based in the heart of Liverpool. We are looking for a motivated candidate to join our clerking team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a long-term career within the legal profession. Previous clerking experience is not essential, as training will be provided. We are looking for someone with excellent organisational skills, a positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
About the Role
Working alongside our experienced clerking team, you will assist in the smooth running of chambers and help provide an excellent service to solicitors, barristers and clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the diary management of barristers.
- Receiving and processing new instructions.
- Liaising professionally with solicitors, courts and clients by telephone and email.
- Booking conferences, trials and other hearings.
- Supporting the senior clerk with the daily administration of chambers.
- Assisting with fee processing and general office administration.
- Providing a professional and friendly first point of contact for chambers.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident communicating with people by telephone and email.
- Professional, reliable and well presented.
- Able to prioritise a busy workload.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new computer systems.
- Eager to learn and develop a career within barristers' chambers.
- A team player with a positive and proactive approach.
Previous experience within a legal environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
