About the role
The Skipton Hotel is looking for a reliable, confident and guest-focused Night Manager to take responsibility for the smooth and secure running of the hotel throughout the night.
You’ll be the senior member of the team on duty overnight, ensuring our guests receive a warm welcome and excellent service while maintaining high standards of safety, security and cleanliness.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced hotel professional who enjoys working independently, takes pride in delivering great customer service and can remain calm and organised when dealing with unexpected situations.
Key responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the hotel during night shifts.
- Welcome late-arriving guests and assist with check-ins and check-outs.
- Deliver friendly, professional and attentive guest service.
- Complete night audit and relevant end-of-day procedures accurately.
- Handle guest queries, requests and complaints confidently and professionally.
- Monitor hotel security and carry out regular checks of the property.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow hotel health and safety procedures.
- Ensure public areas and the reception area remain clean, tidy and welcoming.
- Prepare the hotel for the following day's operations.
- Complete handovers and communicate important information to the day team.
- Support and supervise night staff as required.
- Ensure hotel standards and procedures are consistently maintained.
About you
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in a hotel, hospitality or customer-facing role.
- Comfortable working independently during the night.
- Calm, professional and confident when dealing with guests.
- Highly reliable, responsible and well organised.
- Able to make sensible decisions and solve problems effectively.
- A strong communicator with excellent customer-service skills.
- Comfortable using hotel booking and computer systems.
- Flexible and willing to work nights, weekends and bank holidays when required.
Previous experience in a Night Manager, Night Porter, Reception or Duty Manager position would be advantageous, but we’re also happy to hear from candidates with the right attitude and transferable experience.
