Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Multi Drop Driver to join our team. This role involves delivering goods efficiently across various locations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivery driving, possess excellent communication skills, and be capable of handling physical tasks such as heavy lifting. A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record are essential for this position. The successful applicant will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.
Duties
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle, such as a van or lorry, to make multiple deliveries throughout the designated area
- Plan delivery routes to optimise efficiency and meet scheduled deadlines
- Load and unload goods, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
- Handle heavy lifting when necessary, including moving goods within warehouses or delivery points
- Obtain signatures or proof of delivery from customers upon completion of each drop
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any issues encountered
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with legal requirements
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and customers regarding delivery times or any delays
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar logistics role
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record; driver qualification is preferred
- Experience with commercial driving vehicles such as vans or lorries
- Previous multidrop experience.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively during loading and unloading processes
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple deliveries within tight schedules
- Excellent communication skills to liaise professionally with clients and team members
- Good geographical knowledge of the local area to optimise routes and reduce delivery times
