Salary: £26,403 - £27,254 a year

Location: 3 days in the Council House (Monday, Wednesday and Friday), 2 days working from home (Tuesday and Thursday). Depending on the requirements of the service, you may be required to work in the Council House on more days during the week.

We have a vacancy for a Business Support Officer in the Community Support Team based within Business Support.
We are looking for someone who wants to play a key role in helping our team deliver a first-class service to the people of Derby.
You will be joining a well established team that will provide you with extensive support and training, whilst giving you opportunities to develop new skills.
Your support will be pivotal to ensuring that our processes run efficiently and effectively.
We are responsible for providing telephone and administrative support to the following service areas:
- MASH (Safeguarding)
- Environmental Services
- Adult Social Care
You must have recent experience of working in a busy business environment and talking calls from members of the public. You will be required to undertake a wide variety of administrative tasks appropriate to the role.
Team duties include answering telephone calls from members of the public and responding to queries raised by customers in a polite and professional manner; verifying and updating records on core systems and ensuring that key information is entered accurately. It is essential that you can exercise confidentiality at all times while performing these duties, and have a clear understanding of GDPR.
Please be aware that some of the calls we receive are from people who are distressed, bereaved or angry and our safeguarding calls, and referrals, are very descriptive of sensitive and upsetting incidents. Full support will be given.
As the first point of contact for services, you must;
- be committed to providing excellent customer service
- have excellent communication skills and are comfortable speaking with members of the public
- have excellent listening skills
- have a calm and confident manner
- be enthusiastic and friendly
You may be required to support in other teams across the Business Support service during busy periods.
