The Role
Food Republic is looking for a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our growing warehouse team.
This is a key bridging role between our Evening and Night warehouse operations, ensuring a seamless transition between shifts.
During the first part of the shift, you will support the Evening Warehouse team by picking customer orders, checking accuracy, and separating completed consolidations ready for loading and dispatch.
As the shift progresses, you will transition into supporting the Night Warehouse team, focusing on picking and checking orders to maintain the flow of work throughout the night operation.
Working alongside Warehouse Operatives, Shift Supervisors and Managers, you will help ensure all orders are prepared accurately, stock is handled safely, and company quality standards are maintained.
Full training on Food Republic systems, warehouse processes, Health & Safety procedures and BRC requirements will be provided.
Working Pattern
- 6:00pm – 2:00am
- 5 shifts per week
- Sunday to Friday operation
- Every Saturday off
- One additional weekday off on a rotating basis
- Overtime opportunities available during busy periods
- Shift times may vary with reasonable notice to meet operational requirements
Key Responsibilities
As a Warehouse Operative, your responsibilities will include:
- Picking orders/pick consolidations accurately and efficiently.
- Checking orders to ensure complete accuracy before dispatch.
- Separating completed orders ready for vehicle loading during the evening operation.
- Handling chilled and ambient products safely.
- Loading delivery vehicles accurately to meet scheduled departure times.
- Supporting stock replenishment throughout the warehouse.
- Reporting damaged, faulty or missing stock.
- Maintaining warehouse cleanliness and organisation.
- Operating warehouse equipment safely and responsibly.
- Communicating effectively with colleagues, supervisors and other departments.
- Following all BRC, Food Safety, Health & Safety and company procedures.
- Completing any other warehouse duties as required.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous warehouse experience.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting moderate to heavy goods.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual and safety conscious.
- Flexible attitude with the ability to adapt to changing business needs.
- Good understanding of spoken and written English.
- Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
- Reach Truck Licence.
- Experience within a food distribution or FMCG warehouse.
- Experience working with chilled and ambient products.
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent).

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
